New Year's Resolutions

I only have one new year resolution: To be closer to God

Why is it that simple? After being a Christian for 1 year, i realise that many things are not up to us to decide. Our worldly desires cannot be attained unless they are right in the eyes of the Lord. Besides, the days without God in my life was truly unbearable.

God will set things right in my life, as long as i live a holy and righteous life for the sake of his.Isaiah 55:8-9 says that ""For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways" declares the Lord. "As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughs than your thoughts."" He knows me best, even better than myself. Even before i was born.

2008 indeed wasn't a good year for the world, and for many people whom i know. So i pray that 2009 will brighter than 2008. However, if 2009 turns out to be worse, its ok.Romans 5:3-5 says that" Not only so, but we also rejoice in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance , character; and character, hope. And hope does not disappoint us, because God has poured out his love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, whom he has given us." This, i guess, will help me pull through my army life for the next 2 years.

Rejoice, for 2009 is coming!!

A miracle to share with.

Today, Sirong's handphone was lost. How high is the probability of finding the lost phone? You know the answer. After that, we went from Wisma back to Far East to search for it. After many calls to her phone and praying, someone finally picked up the phone and said that the phone is with her in the Grand Hyatt Hotel.

Even though at times when chances of succeeding seem minimal, God will still make it possible when we sincerely seek him for help. Praise to our God! =D

I have a loving family. In this family, i am the youngest son who is always doted by my parents and siblings. I thank God for landing me in this family, for i know there is a purpose behind this and my life. And i am still searching for this purpose

However, this family has provided me a comfort zone which will hinder my growth in becoming a mature, independent and competent adult.

I want to lead my own independent life in the future so that i can be moulded into an independent being that i desire to be. Nevertheless, i will be filial and not to neglect them when i am capable of working and starting a family. This may be a 5-to-10-years' vision, but its good to plan for the long term.Plans? Go Australia to further my studies? My upcoming NS 2-yr life experience? University lifestyle in Singapore? I don't know but i plead that God will envisage me his plans soon.

My heart feels so incomplete and empty. I have been away from Him
since the end of A's Level, and i wish to go back to him. Like before. Will You accept me back once again? Yes i know You will, but i am afraid to disappoint You again..

This Post is for Cherina

Happy Boxing Day to you Darling!

I am glad that we had spent great times together during this X'mas. Sorry to be late in the morning and make comments that agitate.

Today's conversation truly inspire me to bring myself away from disillusion and back into God's Kingdom. Thank you so much for your encouragement!

Today has passed, tomorrow will come and future will loom. The 2 years of distance will indeed pose a challenge to our relationship. I have plans for my future and it involves you. I pray that during your SIA career, you will be able to resist temptations and cling onto God closely for strength and encouragement. No matter what rumours may come about, i believe that u will remain faithful. I love you =)

Last Day in Dubai

Places: Jumeirah Beach and Muggs&Beans restaurant

Had fun in Dubai. Coming back to Singapore now=)

Last Night in Dubai

Places: Desert, Ras Al Khaimah, Yanshuang Chinese restaurant, Souq al Bahar and French Bakery
In the morning, we went back to the desert for rides on the quad bikes. 30 min, 100 dhs(approximately $45.50) per person Although its expensive, the experience was definitely worthwhile. Mum didn't attempt because of the cold weather.
UAE(United Arab Emirates) combines of 7 emirates. Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Ras al-Khaimah are the few emirates in UAE. We embarked on a 2 hr trip to Ras al-Khaimah for rifle-shooting at 330pm. To kill time, we had our lunch at a KFC restaurant.

After the rifle-shooting experience and another 2 hr trip back to Dubai, we had our steamboat dinner at a Chinese restaurant. However, we didn't enjoy the food and the service there. Singapore is indeed a better place in terms of general services and food standards as compared to Dubai.
Since this is our last night in Dubai, instead of turning in early, we went to the Souq al Bahar for some sight-seeing. Had the opportunity to witness the gigantic structure of the current tallest building in the world, Burj Dubai Tower.
Lastly, we had our tasty cookies, ice cream and cake at the French Bakery.
What a wonderful day in Dubai!

Dubai's 7th Day

Place: Global Village

No photos today because i forgot to bring my camera out! I think its largely because of the fact that i had slept for an approximate 15 hrs today.haha. We only went out at 6pm. We had dinner at a Malaysian restaurant with my brother-in-law's boss, Jordan and his family. Was surprised that he actually knew my church's pastor, Pastor Tony Tan. had a great chat with him while on the way to global village( nothing fanciful, just a v v huge global-pseudo pasar malam). Hope to meet him again in the future.

Dubai's 3rd Day

Places: Festival City, Eagle Restaurant near Lulu centre, Palm Jumeirah's Atlantis Hotel
Its shopping again today. Went to shop at Festival City( Nice indoor architecture that has a creek which reminds me of Venice) . In addition, most items are branded and as expensive as Singapore's branded goods. So i only bought a blue-white checkered shirt which is relatively cheap. Though shopping brings me nightmares, i miss shopping with my girlfriend. haha

Next, we had pakistani food for dinner. Most of them are spicy, so i don't really like them( except the mutton curry)
Lastly, unexpectedly, we went to the Atlantis Hotel at the man-made Palm Jumeirah island.

Dubai's 2nd Day

Places: Souqs, Dubai Mall, Iranian restaurant and etc( For photos, 1st is the last)
Souq is a commercial quarter whereby bazaar sales are held. Went to the Naif Souq where it sells traditional clothings and perfumes, and children's items. V boring

After that, we went to the Dubai Mall which is one of the world's largest shopping centres. Other than the branded shops, there are the Aquarium, Ice Rink(Ice skating ground) and the Gold Souk( A sector in the Dubai Mall where all jewellery shops are situated in.)

Lastly for dinner, we had Iranian food. Appetisers are ok. The grilled chicken and mutton were the most delicious.
Today is a good day =D
