Today was a very interesting day. I was expecting to book out ard 5 30pm. However, due to early appointments, i managed to book out at 130pm! WOW! So yea also managed to utilise my time well. Had lunch with my upper study NEO,met up with Chen Thong at woodlands for a chit-chat session and lastly had dinner with Lester, Jeremy Sim and Chen Thong. And we did an amazing thing. We did Street Evangelism today!! Woohoo!! Random though but personally I felt that God had encouraged me strongly to persevere and never feel discouraged even though people are not receptive. After all. we Christians are called to spread the gospel and not sell the gospel. Well we just need to commit Street Evangelism into God's hands =)

Finally POP lor!! After a long struggling period of 8 months, i have become a sergeant. Great not to endure through the trainee life anymore! Woohoo!! Well, this Spec course (3 mths) was the best that i had ever gone through. In this Spec course, i had known great friends like Zhi Lun, Han Qun, Guan Hua, Andre and Clayton. These are friends whom i know that i will maintain long-term friendships with. I will definitely cherish the enjoyable moments with them and Sgts like Sgt Heider, Sgt Ming Kiat and Sgt Liang.

Well though trainee life is over, i know that there are greater responsibilities for me as a sergeant. I don't mind, really. As a leader, i feel happy because i know that i have the ability to lead. Leadership and confidence are really the 2 aspects that i have learnt during this Spec course. In the morning, Shawal came to have a talk with me. He said: " U should have become an instructor. Its a waste of talent for you to be posted to DB.If u stayed as an instructor, i know you will become a good instructor." I chose DB because i know there is where God wants me to go. However, his words had really boosted confidence in me.

However, there is 1 problem. I hope to be the detention platoon which can allow me to have greater interaction with the detainees. However, today i have realised that i will be the security platoon which does mainly guard duties and escorting of detainees. I want to be in Db because i want to understand people from the other side of life. And to spread the gospel to them so that they can be saved. To me, its a very disappointing news.

To my fellow Christian friends, please pray for me that He will put me in the right platoon and make the full use of me in DB.

What is love?

Wikipedia: Love is any of a number of emotions and experiences related to a sense of strong affection[1] and attachment. The word love can refer to a variety of different feelings, states, and attitudes, ranging from generic pleasure ("I loved that meal") to intense interpersonal attraction ("I love my boyfriend"). This diversity of uses and meanings, combined with the complexity of the feelings involved, makes love unusually difficult to consistently define, even compared to other emotional states.

Bible: 1 Corinthians 4:4-8 states that:

4Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.

5It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.

6 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.

7It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

8Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away.

Friendship has been an issue that made me ponder during this spec course ( 3mths) period. After ending a 2 yrs and 3 mths relationship, everything seems so different. So uneasy, especially when the social life of mine had transited from relationship to friendship. Incidents during these 3 mths had made me realise that i need to refocus and regenerate efforts in maintaining friendships. This post is for the purpose of allowing my friends to understand me more, in general 2 things.

1st: God is the centre of my life, so every decision that i make will be done so with accordance to the teachings in the bible. I want to obey and glorify Him for the undeserving love that He has showered upon me by sending His only son Jesus Christ to die for my sins and giving me a chance to enjoy eternal life in heaven with Him. He is my spiritual source of strength and companionship, and I cannot live without Him. In general, I will be closer with friends in church because of the same beliefs in life. However, I also have many close friends like Zhilun, Han Qun, Yu ting, Chern Hui and Yong Jun who are not Christians. What i ll like to conclude is that i respect and cherish friends that i have around me, but sometimes i may make decisions which disallow me to spend more time with you guys because I want and need to spend time with my Heavenly Father and have fellowship with my church friends. ( Sat and Sun church services, for e.g). Hence, i hope that friends of mine will understand why i may spend lesser time with you.

2nd: I am 1 who will overlook most of people's weaknesses and expect the least out of my friends. I believe that when i am expecting the least out of my friends, my contentment will be maximised. I ll rather expect less than to handle possible disappointments. I am sorry to those who may expect a lot from me and face disapppointments because of my responses. And also not being able to reciprocate the level of commitment and efforts that are put into the friendship. Although this is who I am, i ll try to change so that friends around me will feel more comfortable. And at the same time, I ll feel that I am natually still who I am in essence and not restricted or unhappy with the changes.

God i pray that you ll make me a better friend to those who have befriended me.

Genesis 25:21

Isaac prayed to the LORD on behalf of his wife, because she was barren. The LORD answered his prayer, and his wife Rebekah became pregnant.

As Issac pleaded with God for children, the Bible encourages us to ask and even plead for our most important and personal requests. God wants to grant our requests, but He wants us to ask Him.

Even then, God may decide to withhold His answer for a while in order to
1) Deepen our insight into what we really need
2) Broaden our appreciation for his answers
3) Allow us to mature so that we can use His gift more wisely

Remember to pray =)

Read this on my fren Andria Choo's blog. 1 interesting post that she has. =)

Devil's Beastitudes:

Blessed are those who are too tired, busy or disorganised to meet with fellow Christians on Saturdays each week.
Their hearts are not in it.

Blessed are those who enjoy noticing the mannerisms of pastor and singers.
Their hearts are not in it.

Blessed are those Christians who wait to be asked and expect to be thanked.
I can use them.

Blessed are the slackers. With a bit of luck they may even stop going to church.
They are my missionaries.

Blessed are those who claim to love God and at the same time hating other people.
They are mine forever.

Blessed are the trouble makers.
They shall be called my children.

Blessed are those who have no time to pray.
They are easy prey for me.

Blessed are you when you read this and think it is about other people and not about yourself.
I’ve got you.

So yea be careful!!
